Allerton Waste Recovery Park opened in March 2018 with the aim of reducing the amount of household waste being sent to landfill sites in North Yorkshire by at least 90%.
The park became functional following a three-year construction programme which included services from Rotec Access Maintenance’s sister company, Rotec Security Systems, on behalf of client Vinci Construction.
The facility employs 90 people and features a visitor information centre for use by schools and community groups in North Yorkshire. With that in mind, Rotec was tasked with installing building-wide security doors including sectional overhead doors and steel hinge doors for machinery access purposes.
When Vinci Construction were considering maintenance requirements for Allerton Waste’s security systems, they delighted to discover that Rotec now offered such services in the form of Rotec Access Maintenance. A full-service contract was put in place and Vinci Construction were so happy with the services provided that they increased scope of their support to include the maintenance of Allerton Waste’s roller shutters which were installed by a third-party supplier.
The project took advantage of almost every facet of Rotec Access Maintenance from compliance checks and security system maintenance, all the way to product repairs.
